how much for spraying???

just wondering if anyone could tell me how much roughly it would be to paint a bonnet..if i suplied the paint to the bodyshop??

Depends u dont Just get the spray and spray it on

lot of prep work involved, rubbing down takes a good while, then u have to get some Primer on it, then lacquer a think, n then 1st coat of paint

id say between 60 and 80 quid depends who you know though really :wink:
A couple hours rubbing down, fillering if needed, more rubbing down, coat of primer, baking, rubbing down, primer, baking, rubbing down, paint, baking, rubbing down, paint, laquer

Dpends who you know etc as Plattsy said, but if you just walk into any decent sprayers, I'd expect £80.

Totally depends where you go realy.. my mates getting her fto fully sprayed after fitting her new bumpers for £200 at our local garage :D

But for 200 quid it will be a job of spraying the bumpers an a quick blow over of the rest of the car.

For quality work there is a lot more involved than 200 quid will pay for!!!

About going rate thb.

£80 a panel is about average as I said up^^ there somewhere, your friend is payin a little extra than that cos the bumpers are bigger an the left over paint is bein blown over the car.

I paid over 1100 quid for a full paint job on my car, cos I wanted a pukka job and all the rust cutting out and every parking ding removed. You get what you pay for with any paint work, but for just a bonnet Julie, be careful as new paint sat next to the old weathered paint will look different colours in different lights.

come on guys you know you get what you pay for, paintwork is not something to skinp on. look at there previous work and make sure they look profetional.

If its a new bonnet it will need a coat of primer then a light skim, then base then clear. 449 paint is about £25 per L and the black is the same, if you get the bodyshop to get it they get discount :wink: i have friends in the trade and there are allllllot of cowboys out there. i would pay up to £100 for a good job if you spend £60 imoa you will regret it. you might not see it now but if thay prep it with the wrong grade papde. ie 240 insted of 800 (to save time) it will sink back with time and you'll see the marks underneith. and £200 for a full paint job :shock: the materials cost that, either she has massive tits or it will be crap. Sorry but its almost guaranteed. :wink:
