Hi, just wondering what the main things u should do when storing a car over winter? Got a garage sorted out, buying an indoor dust cover......is it better to start the car up every few days to keep things running....or disconnect the battery and not start it at all seen as the most engine damage happens from cold? Also....is it best to put the car on axel stands or is that going too far.. Any help would be appreciated. Matt

Disconnect battery but start up every couple of weeks. Put it on axle stands with hand brake off etc.

k m8...cheers. Don't know if I'll bother with the axel stands as I don't have much room to get the wheels off once it's in the garage:lol: Is it just to stop flat spots in the wheels....or the damp?

Give the car a proper wash. Take the wheels off and wash em and apply a thick layer of wax. While the cars jacked up wash under the arches. Sometimes it does a car more bad than good to store it for winter.

54k, 1 owner, FSH, standard other than Magnex zorst. No rust at all! Arches are mint...the whole car is really apart from the wheels as the owner has not had them done since he bought the car 12 years ago. Drives superbly....does'nt seem as quick as my hybrid though, but needs good service, de-cat, panel filter etc. Pics....gonna give it a good polish etc this weekend.

Sweeeeet.

Dust sheets?
Also heard leaving the windows open a little bit can help stop it getting damp inside (moisture).

Had the cambelt, idler, tensioner, aux belt done at stan's on sat....thought i'd get it done just in case before the long drive home. Few things I need to sort out....wheel refurb, leaky rear window, exhaust blows sometimes, elec window switch not working, revearse lights not working (wiring I think). Nothing major really, gonna get it as mint as posible, new fogs, indicators etc. Cheers for comments peeps. Matt
