Today no.2 spark plug blew out of my head smashed the s p cover and hit the bonnet. the spark plug port threads are no more :-(

thought my exhaust has split at first. due to the blowing lol.. on looking inside the bonnet i saw the problem.

i managed to wedge the plug in to get me home but it spat it out on pulling it home.

am i right in thinking my options are:
1) spark plug port rethread kit
2) new head.

naturally i cant be arsed messing with taking the engine apart lol...
i was only boasting the other day about the reliabilty of my car since i fettle with it..lol

happened to a lad over on CS a while back as well.

Options you pointed out are the only ones i can think of. Does the head not have to come off for rethreading anyway?

If you take the head off you can have the thread re done at any decent place, like impulse developments or that port formance a few have used on here will prob do it.

Have a bit of polishin an portin while its there

Or as you have said, buy a new head.

I wouldnt try an force it or you may cross thread it, but I'm sure you already know that.
