a v6

lol

well the reason I asked is my mate frenchy has 186 with reasonably little done.

Anyone got a knacked 2.0 bottom end in the south west for sale?

Frenchy's ain't your average f7r though mate it's a very good one.....to make a definate 200 bhp you need t/b's but as northy says the nana is running the spec he mentioned at circa 197bhp.

all figures tho at the end of the day.

imo needs to be a very good, or well rebuilt bottom end, with nana spec as above. that will get 200bhp on the penny.

ITB's should defo get more.

all mega money tho.

cams, remap, full engine rebuild, headwork will cost the best part of 3.5k usually! i looked into it a while back when i could afford it. and before i got windows, cage, bonnet, new avo's, slicks and wheels.

not cheap

Im building an F7R on std inlet which im hoping to crack 200bhp with.

Custom Catcams
APD 33mm inlet big-valve head
Lighten/balance cranktrain
ARP rod bolts.

The last one i done to a similar spec made 190.2bhp...this was with VERY conservative cam timing....it idles spot on, you really wouldnt think it had cams etc.

The current one is using slightly wilder cams, and i dont think i have the customer constraint of "make sure it idles well"!!

Forgot to say...the reason i was mentioning the last big-valve F7R i built, was because if the timing was set for it...i.e. if we gave it more lift at tdc, that would likely make over 200bhp

mine ran 199.8bhp back in march when the weather was cold, corrected tho it was only 192.7bhp. the spec was

rebuilt f7r
piper cams + verniers set up @chipwizard
headwork (polish and port)
ss manifold
scorpion exhaust with straight through centre section
k+n panel filter
custom map @chipwizards

how much does a remap usually cost? What if you just put cams in without a remap - what sort of power would you be looking at? and what about just cams with a remap?

i think a remap at chipwizards is £350 with WC discount?
