So then lads this on my mod list for the t/b clio It'll give better grip launching at pod and will be good mod for the track too plus I can have the flywheel done when the box comes off lol

So do we have contacts/opinions/ prices?

Oh and is there anyway around the speedo feed problem?

Yup the diff unit is only £800 plus, but by the time the gearbox is checked/rebuilt,the price seems to average out about £1200.
Tom at gripper is a superb engineer, his place is is spotless  8) .
However is gearbox man ????,well Stan and others would have a heart attack.!!!
I have never asked if they can just supply the LSD unit, and get someone else to fit it ,I cannot think of any reason to prevent this.Perhaps someone on here can tell.
My gearbox man in Preston, had no problems rebuilding the whole gearbox ,for my mates rally car though

one of these would be wicked, but puts a new box and lsd/gripper at around 2k. not worth it for me imo.

would rather chuck 2k at the engine, and use a jb3 till it breaks.

hehe

I have never been in one where it doesnt increase understeer.

Sure, fine in a straight line where 50/50 torque is wanted.........but round a corner.......ergh.

I know peopple who've spent all the cash installing one, then removed it next day.

Works in a ITR?

BenR

ITR's dont oversteer on power, they still understeer.

I just wouldnt waste my time on an ATB.

furry muff, can't see how a fwd is gonna do anything other than understeer under power tbh not matter what diff it does'does'nt have but I'm sure I can find other ways to spend the money lol

yea, true.

Its just every car where it didnt understeer before, if you apply light throttle round a corner your used to, it caught out all my mates by understeering quite severly.

Stickier tyres may do the job better for much less cash?

The Gripper LSD fitted to mine is spot on altho I still need to drive a standard willy to compare. TBH I would only buy one if I was seriously into track racing as the cost to fit one is phenomenal (£880 just for the diff IIRC), mine just happened to have one fitted by the original owner. I gave northy all the contact details for Tom at DR Engineering a while back if he stll has them?

Why not ask the guy who owns this?

I've just had a tranX diff fitted to my 205's box, I'm mainly looking for more traction when sliding it out of corners.

Several friends have ATB's and love them, but I found them a bit snatchy. I'll tell how I get on next week when I stick the new engine and the box in and give the car death.

Why are clio ones sooo expenisve? The pugone was £600 then free fitting as the box was being rebuilt anyways
