Mine seem to be getting a bit tired in their old age and not really squiting very high up the windscreen, what would need replacing, is it the pump or the little jets themselves?

Cheers

Danny

it's usually dirt or that they have moved slightly... i used to use a pin on my XR2 to adjust them

my back one doesn't even spray water, but you can hear the pump trying when you hold it back, will that one be blocked too do you think jebus?

Try blowing up the pipe with compressed air.

Mine started doing fack all Danny after I had my new 'screen in. I disconnected everything and checked the pumps. Then I blew down the pipes. When I reconnected everything they were powerful as fook!

will have to give that a try too then, is it an easy job then to take the pipes off and clean them out?

Just unclip the plastic scuttle, turn it over and disconnect the washer pipe from the pump. Then just blow hard!

3 Torx screws, 1 at either end and one in the middle. Then there's deviant little clips along the base of the screen. Just pull the scuttle and watch them all ping off and fall in to the well near the blower motor!

They're fvcking hateful little things. I only have one left! The RAC man wasn't aware of them and they pinged off everywhere. We could only find one!

Right at the weekend I had a look at the washers, got pin out first of all and then poked it down the holes to try and give them a clean, then I wiped and rubbish off them and did that all round!

I then tried them and one side seemed to be slightly better but not that powerful, however they have gone even worse as the week has progressed, so something needs to be done now as they are really bad and get hardly any water out from them!

So whats best thing to do now, take the scuttle panel off, disconnect everything and clean all the lines and bottle out, is this an easy job?

I had a look at taking to scuttle off and the only problem i saw was with taking having to take the windscreen wipers off, is this easy also?

And finally how much are new pipes, washer jets, washer bottle and pump from reno, does anyone know?

Right Danny. Trust me in that you need do nothing other than disconnect the hose for the fronts and blow hard!

Wipers come off easy, just one bolt. I had exactly the same trouble in that it got to the point where the water was only dribbling out.

You shouldn't need to replace anything.

Don't even need to remove wipers.
Just in the hatch where the washer bottle is you'll find the fed pipe to both jets, it clips onto the underneath of the scuttle just above the wing, just blast some air up this pipe.

right will do, so lift the scuttle panel slightly and blast some air down the pipes, that it?

Also will water go pissing out anywhere?

Swervin_Mervin

Shouldn't piss out Danny no. Clean the pipe before you get yer lips round it as well. Don't want to catch owt.

That sounds well dodgy!
