i can rev my valver 1.8 to a staggering 7100 rpm is this standard as the car really pulls well i`m thinking it may been chipped as it will reach 139mph just before it hits limiter
its doing

1st 35mph
2nd 60 mph
3rd 89 mph
4th 112mph
5th 139 mph just before limiter around 6900-7000

any info on this or it all normal

7k is the normal rev limiter for valvers.
6.5k ish for williams

sounds like a normal valver to me, although i ran out of room @130 in mine at around 6700rpm on the way to FCS this year

i`d reckon these have to be the quickest hot hatch for its time although i would stick my neck outand say the sunnygti 150 bhp is pretty quick
the gitr would walk over it though

Whats quicker the gti 6 pug or williams
maybe a comparision chart or league table or 90`s hot hatches
the clio must be in the top 10 at least

The clio would be in the top 5!!!

Followed closely by the 205 1.9 GTi

^^^^^^^^^^agreed, used to love my 1.6 and 1.9 pugs,( not the quickest of cars compared to say a mk2 astra gte 16v, but would run rings round them on the right roads! and not forgetting my old valver!

Love the 205's.

The 1.6's I thought were poop, the 1.9 is a world apart. My other half has owned a few. Most recently a 1.9 that we sold to our next door neighbour.

He under estimated the valver tho as the pug was his first hot hatch.

I soon showed him my heels.
They handle well tho and are very light and quick.
Oooh the astra GTE with the digital dash. Lovin it.

LOL

when i had 1.9, my mate had his 16v astra and it demolished me with great ease,so i got my modded valver and there was nothing in it, he then went onto get a 205 mi16 on carbs, and left me for dead again! :(

as for the original question those figures are exactley the same as what my valver would pull, when i first bought it, turned out it had a chip in it ( well apparently anyway )
