nyk

Had various prices for renewal on the valver - ranging from 600 - 800.

Adrian Flux just gave me a brill quote for 425 Fully Comp - one years no claims.

Anybody have/had a policy with them, any problems??

Never thought I'd get insurance that cheap till I was at least 40!!
LOL

Thats very cheap! I'm with them and pay about £950 with mine insured as 1.8......but with no ncb. Just shows u how much difference it can make. I've had no probs with them anyway, always very helpful. They generally don't take any notice of mods other than those on your engine. Matt

10-11-2006, 15:08
Thats with all my mods declared as well.

I'm only 2nd year driver.

Age (24) and being female is prob the advantage tho.

and being an old biddy  i'm a 3rd year driver (almost) and my current policy is TPFT @ £650 with one years NCB at 20 years old

so yeah i'd say its a good quote

MattyH16valver
10-11-2006, 15:11
That must help then! May ring around for my next renewal if Adrian Flux don't give me a good discount. Have'nt declared my engine mods either!

nyk
10-11-2006, 15:16
Yeah I would Matty, I paid not far from what your paying on my first years driving in the valver.

I thought it would come down to about 6/7 - and thats what I've bin getting quotes for.
Andrian Flux just blew the others out the water.

LOL

weird, they have always quoted me stupid prices and insisted on taking my anal virginity... Hyperformance were the cheapest for me by several hundred pounds for me, I'd give them a try too.

nyk
10-11-2006, 15:45
LOL @ Jesus - well they've no chance of takin my anal virginity, that was gone many moons ago. PMSL

Not tried hyperformance, will give em a try tho.

Flux are sh!t IMO

they've lied to me over the phone before and it took a solicitors letter to get them to pay out what they owed my brother.

They also quoted one excess over the phone but put a higher one on the forms in my case. :x

And they use Highway insurance, who should actually be called "Highway Robbery" imo.

I deliberately asked the brokers I rang this year not to get a quote from them!

cheap for a reason...

Adrian flux = avoid avoid avoid

Might give you a good price but dont expect any customer service from them and god forbid if you need to make a claim!

If you have a valver on a j plate you can put a valver on classic insurance with HIC ( https://www.hertsinsurance.com/indexswf.aspx ) for some reason if there any newer it wont put them in the classic catergory on the net quote.

Limited mileage policy mind, but they cover any mods and im told they do cover for the track aswell.

nyk
10-11-2006, 17:55
unfortunately mines a 95 so no chance there.

I've got their quote in writing tho, so I'm gonna try a few others an see if they can get near it.

DO NOT GO WITH FLUX.

You have to pay for EVERYHTING, twice! (well maybe not twice lol). Change your address they charge you 15quid admin fee, and for this that and every ****ing mod you change.

They have a LOT of hidden charges.

If you think they have given you a good quote... go and try Greenlight insurance.

Seriously though, stay well clear of Flux.

I've just finished with them for the year and they quoted me even higher for renewal, wankers.

Greenlight have given me a better quote, although my car is SORN'd for the winter now.

If you do go with flux, make sure you pay for the year in full, otherwise its a stupid 20% APR or some such. Lol, they are ****ing evil and should be avoided at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell I hate um?!?!

Flux suck!

I pay £700 odd for a 24 year old with 2 years ncb fully comp.

They wanted £1773 for the same privelege! asked why it was so much the male member on the phone said it was due to my age and the car I was driving, reminding him I pay over a grand less already he stated they had got it wrong and I will have to pay the difference when they realise.

SHUT UP!

I've been with Flux now for the last 18 months. I ony pay £350 fully comp, 3 years NCB. That price includes breakdown cover!

I've been more than happy with Flux and cant recommend them enough! Odd at some of the negative comments, and I guess more and more companies rely on postcodes for the quote...

nyk

greenlight wont quote for my area.

flux are a bunch of w*****s i cancelled my insurance on a car of mine after selling it and it cost me £200 for 6 weeks insurance, the refund was for £190, 3 months later and i am still waiting for my money after numorus phone calls  F*****G W*****S

i have insured my williams with norwich union now at a cost of £275 full comp but with one drawback the excess is £770, not to bad as long as i don't hit any thing (touch wood lol)

Ah good ole SO31 postcode? I also get nice and cheap insurance

I get quoted just under the 400 mark these days, 25yrs + 7yrs NCB, fully comp. Guessing you must be a bit older than me then Jimbob!?! :)

Flux was the best quote i had by miles. Im 20 with 1 years ncb and 3 points  . The cheapest i found before them was about £1300 tpft on a williams 2. I'd heard good things about flux so i rang them and they quoted 9 hundred and something and i told them i was a member of cliosport aswell which took it down to £823 tpft. Only downside i can see on the written quotation is that it's about 35% apr if i pay monthly! Just gonna try and get it down a bit by only insuring myself for 6 months untill im 21 and then going fully comp.
A couple of my mates are with Bell Direct and say that they were the best they found. Quoted me something stupid tho! lol

Illusion
14-11-2006, 13:56
Flux gave me a shite quote.

Greenlight renewal (£650) was more than what admiral quoted me for and they wouldn't go any lower.

£484 with Admiral - 24 with 3 years NCD - didn't think that was too bad.

im with flux.

only people that will insure me on my car with all mods declared. tpft, 3k limited milage, 20 with 2 years ncd, cage, engine, seats, harnesses, windows, the lot. 700quid.

expensive but worth it.

Adrian Flux have just rang me today and dropped their quote to £376 and thrown in the breakdown cover for free.

Not bad at all.

None of the others can get anywhere near it including hyperformance, CIS etc.

nyk
15-11-2006, 15:00
your mate will prob find that a lot of insurance companies will say that tho.

My little brother paid 1700 for his first years drivin on a 1.1 fiesta pop. he's just coming up to renewal and he's bought the same, a 306 1.9tdi, the sport tho, and the insurance is like 2500 and some insurance companies wont touch him. Good job he's gets paid a wod, he's only 18.

Heard a few good things and bad things about them. Still seeing what else is about.

and, i have claimed from them before and everything went quickly and without a problem

dont, under any circumstances, go with Liverpool Victoria, who tried to shaft me sideways after i sadly wrote off my Clio GTT
