Couple of Q's!

Hi Guys

This Monday i'm going to look at a willy converted 16v. Now i have a quick couple of questions:-

Its has the Clio 16v manifold - I heard thiss can improve torque? Is this True or is better off with the willy one?

Secondly, It has a rebuilt Clio 16v gearbox on it. Is this ok for it as heard that williams' have taller gears? Will the 1.8 box slow it down or improve it?

1. Valver manifold gives more torque, yes.

2. Valver box is the same ratio's until 5th gear.. but then who cares. Willy box is stronger tho.

not sure... I have a valver box in mine at the moment and 5th is exactly the same ratio...

I thought the valver box had a slightly lower 5th and also a lower final drive, but to be honest I have never compared them to see.

dunno, pretty sure 5th's the same... infact I though it was first that was different? dunno, 80mph is 4k tho and it will easily do 145mph on the clocks.
