Thats what the renault guy told me what does 'flare the end' mean??
Can i use the old union and pull the pipe out? As renault have to order 1 in and it'll take forever :(
You ahve to get a bvrake pipe flairing tool, you can chop the end off the old pipe and put a new union on and pull it inot position.....thats the bodge
The proper way to do it is take the pipe off hte other end and take it to a local garage and get one made up for you, you could do it yourself, btu you'd need top buya fairing tool, a roll of copper tubing and a bending tool, and the unions
as above.
easy enough job.
if its an early clio like mine, they are steel coated pipes, so hard to flare. easiest to replace the line with new copper and union nuts.
i have no idea why they make the unions so damn soft, they just round, bent and break far too easy.
easy to fix tho.

what exactly does a break pipe flaring tool do??
you slide the union over the end of the pipe and then flair the end so the union doens't come off/pipe doesn't come outa the union

hmm where can i get this magically tool from??
And how does it flare the end if the end is in the union :S
its like a press, and just pushes the metal out, flaring the end, so the union nut wont come off
i bought mine with a kit for 20 quid. can do numerous diameters of pipe.
copper flares so much easier than the std steel with plastic coating.
