Had these wheels fitted to my car for about 2 months (havn't used it much because ive been at uni).

I got some work done on the car today and got told that the wheel is rubbing on the suspension and the brake lines if im on full lock.

Does anyone know anything about these wheels and if they are supposed to fit? Would spacers be ok to use? as i heard they bugger up the handleing!

Wrong offset. I had some to use as track wheels but never used them as I couldn't be arsed with the rubbing so sold 'em on.

its weird though because ive never noticed the rubbing!

are they likely to be rubbing when im say going down the moterway?

Looks like im on the hunt for some turbines.

I cant even get a finger inbetween the tyre and the shock, im guessing that isn't normal lol

So can you just run spacers to move them out?

a lot of people run with 3/4 mm clearence between the tyre and strut when on 17's etc.

Not ideal but usable. Might rub on the strut with tired bearings on cornering

Mines fine doesn't rub anywhere maybe the wheels are a different offset.

So what offset are:

a) standard valver rims
b) standard willy rims
c) 172 Ph1 OZ F1 rims?

:?:

Thanks :)

Another question!

What's the centre bore needed?

Thanks :)

Bump! :P

If I ran a set of these with 7mm spacers, this would be the same as standard offset valver wheels, wouldn't it?

Would I need longer wheel bolts?

You need longer bolts. Get some of those spacers that make it the same as willy wide track.

He already has the Williams wide track fitted.

I have indeed, thanks to your good self Mr Brown!

Think I'll try and get a set of these wheels then - ph2's are heavy and I fancy something different to willy wheels (which I can't afford...)

Can't really afford them but nevermind... lol

Shouldn't need spacers then doesnt make much difference to the track. I thought you were doing it for clearance reasons.

But surely I'd still need spacers??

If I don't then won't the wheels be further in than standard williams setup, meaning it will handle differently?

And, if I do need spacers, are these ok?

Matt

Will be differnt tyres my good man, for example the sidewalls on 50 profile F1's buldge out alot more than 45 profile

clowo16v

Surely that would make it rub as mines on 195/50 f1s

Is the centre bore the same on these as on valver/willy wheels?

Will I need spigot rings? (is that what they're called?? lol)

mattyc

I think ive lost one of my spigot rings if i have them because since taking one of my wheels off ive got dodgy noise :S

clowo16v

Mine dont need spigot rings.
