Following replacement of the Coolant sensor on the thermostat, found out my fan problem was caused by the anti perculation sensor being faulty.

Symptom of this was the fan would stay on for so long after the car has been switched off that eventually the battery would drain.

New sensor is Renault only part and near £50.

Had this sensor disconnected for a while before replacing. Only thing it really does is flush the coolant around teh engine to cool it down quicker when you have switched it off.

actually it only activates the rad fan and aux water pump after switch off if the coolant temp is above 100 degrees
