They have made it clear they will not display our link on their site. To me this stinks of insecurity about how successful we are getting.

if they remove ours then we should remove ours i say! conversly however do we want to appear to be on the same level as them, being as petty? mind you i spose even if we do remove it the attitude on this sight will always be better then theirs.

i would have said the same but for some reason it seems they clearly don't like us all which bemuses me why other clio owners don't want to encourage other clio specific websites

I've voted no
For a few reasons all of which someone will have a nag about
1) Your trying to show your more gown up then do a petty thing like removing a link to there. Surely if were so good we should be happy to show the "competitions" work?
2) The link was probably removed for other reasons. the mods on CS (least th ones Ive ever meet) seem realy nice honest blokes. They won't discuss on the forum why things have gone on ie removed posts etc as they/the admin decided to not do this. Its there forum they can make the rules. I've stuck links to here before without any problem.

Don't forget this site can only realy get smaller as the Williams and 16V become more and more rare CS acommadated new Clios as well. Not saying that as anything negative you specialise on a certain model they have a wider audiance.
Also this forum seems (IMO) to be made up of NW people who already new each other so there few "issue" users which CS can suffer from.

King strobe don't take this the wrong way but you were banned from CS ages ago and still vist CS however when CS members visit here you seem to take it the wrong way.

I wish this petty argument between the groups would stop its only going to get worse when members go another the other forum (whichever way it is). Can we all not just act grown up let the past go and if they want to remove a link to this site accept it and act in a more mature way?
PS sorry for any spelling/grammer mistakes it to late for me and I cannot type when I'm awake.

Well said.

We have a good forum here lets not start bitching about whats going on over at CS, if you have issues etc with CS then this really isn't the place for it.

Who the f*ck voted no?

This is what happens if you put things to the vote, you often have to live with a decision you don't want but thats democracy, having slept on it, and believe me yesterday I was less than impressed with this link issue, I have decided that the profile of this site appears to be based on maturity and genuine goodwill to Car owners, therefore I believe we should keep the link, to show that WE can rise above" Pettiness", concentrating more on what this site needs to do, not to arrive eventually into the same state of some others. This is just one mans opinion of course, but I felt like contributing my 2 cents worth. Even those people with apparently good reason to feel agrieved towards CS and certain individuals, should concede that concentrating on the positive development of this site should be more rewarding and ultimately a better use of their time. This way we will attract and retain new members because of it's content and not personnal reasons.

Good Morning everyone!! PS some constructive comments being made on CS!

Wether its worth removing any links to CS I dont know, I will quite happily leave that down to the people in charge of this site. One thing I do know from a business side is why help someone else out if you get nothing in return? Thats not to say this is a business as such, but some of the principles are the same.

Now I'm not anti-CS but I do choose to post on here way more than CS because I find the content so much better (i.e no posts about neons, huge bodykits etc) and IMO CS is way, way too over-moderated and seems to have far too many generals.

I do stay in contact with people off Cliosport anyway, so will continue posting on bith sites for as long as I'm allowed.

I also wouldnt be happy with having any people running a business offering services to its web community also serving as moderators. That smacks of unfair competition to me and the other members on the site may not always get the best deal available.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

Thinking about it too, i think this vote should be re-done on pm privately. For example i am sure slugger and co have come on here and voted no, so it doesnt give an accurate representation of the true vote.

I think everyone should pm Fatboy yes or no. That way he can disqualify votes from people like slugger (and people who are not really part of the club) and get an accurate representation of the votes.

KS, this vote is hardly conclusive, given that there are nearly 250 registered users of this site and despite that only a handfull have voted, given the general apathy, its obviously not a big deal to most. You seem very angry about this, I'll talk to you one day prehaps, but this isn't the right medium!

On a serious note I couldn't really give a toss about this whole CS vs williamsclio thing so not gonna bother voting, I post on both sites, never had a problem with the people on CS but much prefer this site cos it specialises in the car I own and people on here know their stuff

Yes, I have seen Platoon, however having actually served in the British Army and been under fire, We didn't take to shooting our own!

I have tried playing mediator, but instead have stirred up a hornets nest :? I am not trying to be the self appointed moral guardian of this site, or Henry Kissinger, all for a peaceful life...chillin.....lifes to short

"Cliosport is a unique car club for all Clio enthusiasts".

If this was really true then surely they'd be assisting members to find information whatever the source....williamsclio is blatantly more geared up for 16v/willy owners yet theres no pointers for their info starved members to try here...it's just petty and rather unfair.

Remove the link - this site made the effort to try and maintain the clio network yet the gesture has been thrown back by the CS lot.

I too served in the British army Nick. I was in the 5th / 6th North Staffs Infantry regiment. I was never under fire though, thank God.

seriously Rob, dont let it get to you mate, we know how you feel, they are unreasonable, this is fact... but no point even bothering, we have a perfectly good club here with a fantastic community spirit, plus have the added bonus that 90% of us actually have met and know each other which is why there's no bitching on here. all harmless banter and fun.

what I will say is that the views on here have led to them being the way they are... which is a bit sad considering it's not the view of the club as stated. don't let em wind you up tho Rob, your the winder upper around here, not them! lol

i think the problem is that CS is run in a different way from people from a different era... in that they probably didn't have as liberal an upbringing as us younger folk and as as a result feel the need to parent the site and it's members... so things like free speech are gone. we can say what we like on here as long as it is fair and reasonable and it's posted at our own risk, a concept that is foreign to the powers that be... again, nothing we can do and nothing will change, but what I will tell you is people are coming onto here as well. Soon enough it will be instead, as we offer a better forum in terms of speed and quality of posts imo. I mean even the crap we put on here has more of a solid content... see the posts in general on CS that have been removed thankfully... mission accomplished on my part there.

its all a bit too Hollyoaks on there... without the fit birds

Maybe we need a CS/Williamclio bonding weekend. We could go camping, build a fire, drink lots of cider and sing silly songs. We'd all realise how daft we have been with this stupid club rivalry, we'd have a good old laugh about it.

Imagine the scene. :

KS- "Tom its not you its me.......Its just that i'm jealous of your popularity!

Tom- Don't worry about it mate, Let the past be and look toward the future!

KS- Tom................I..................think i've devolped feelings towards you.

Tom- (Tear rolling down his cheek) I love you Stromba, come here and give me a big hug!

*KS and Tom embrace*

Then again, maybe things will never change
