yep. 2 man job, big levers on the spanner and allen key. it will move. easy option is an impact gun tho.

when i took mine off they were that tight the allen key socket sheared flush. I had to weld a nut on to hold the strut so i can undo the nylock nut !

Impact or air gun.
I took mine to a garaged and got them to buzz it off, then tightened it up by hand (be alright inless you catch any air! :P).
They can be damn tight, was breaking my mates RT and snapped a allen key trying to do it, then ended up stripping the strut top it was so tight!

just get a cheapy impact wrench. I got mine from Makro for £10 and it did the trick for the strut tops.

Like I said when we met, Sambo, declare all your mods. next time. It doesn't usually make much difference to your insurance and will save you all the hassle. Hope you get a decent payout especially for the whiplash.

Was it not someone else who went into the back of you? Just wondering because surely that would mean it doesn't matter if the mods were still on your car - unless they don't admit it was their fault, though I would have thought the fact they went into the back of you would make it their fault.
