View Full Version : 172 springs vs williams springs
Alright whats the different between the 172 spring and the williams springs?
im currently looking for new springs for my williams.
Andy
172 spring are the same as williams springs.
172 cup springs are different, they are slighltly shorter and a higher lb's. they are also different to look at, .... less coils in the spring.
ps i havent noticed much difference between my old williams springs and cup springs.
have you got any pic's of your car with the 172 cup springs? does it lower the car alot than standard springs?

They are identical, but 172 ones are more readily available second hand and have usually done less mileage.
no they are 2mm shorter than with standard williams/172 springs.

there are a very good set of AVO springs in the for sale section.
i think ill go 4 172 cup springs! does it handle just as well?
well it doesnt feel as tight as the AVOs did but, it feels pretty good and it doesnt scrape on things so its all good for me.

I believe edde has said they lower between 2 and 7mm, depending on what the factory were doing that day LoL
have to say, std springs are gay, ive put them back on mine and its pants! tempted to stick the 200lb set back on!
