View Full Version : Annoying vibration.
When accelerating or blipping the throttle in the Valver I get an annoying vibration and horrible sound. It sounded like the CAT was touching the heatshield after I had it fitted for the MoT, but now with the de-cat on and the exhaust system adjusted it still does it but not as bad.
Any ideas?
Cheers.
is teh backbox hiting the rear axle ?
Nah don't think so.
I adjusted it all yesterday, got it running smooth.
It feels like it's from the front somewhere. The whole dash vibrates
could it be an engine mount late? Does it go away if you keep the revs up?
I did also replace the dogbone mount yesterday with a genuine Renault one... lol
Erm yeah it does kind of settle down a bit if I kep the revs at say 4k.....but if I floor it, it comes back :(
missfire? How are the plugs and leads etc
Nah deffo not a missfire.
Looked at the manifold today and the lower part, especialy the heatshield on the mani looks very close to the steering rack.
I can only imagine it's that tocuhing and sending vibrations through the steering column.
Weird tho as it randomly happend one day :/
How can I stop it? :)
if its the heatshield on the manifold u can remove it - i dont have one and never had any trouble. if u want to keep it repair the missing screws.
iv got a similar prob
around 3500 rpm i get a rattle goes at 4500 i cant see anything lose ?

downpipe heatshield, under the manifold. Its in two parts joined by two screws either side. theyl either be missing somewhere or loose.

Check teh downpipe isnt hitting the dogbone mounts. My fooker used to and i couldnt stop it no matter how hard i tried and how much i adjusted the zorst. In the end an industrial size jubalie clip sorted it
