Anyone got any useful insights into preparing a car for 12 month storage?

Do's and dont's would be schweet.

take battery off
lock doors
fit car cover

Thats all u need worry about.

axel stands are a good idea will keep the damp off

Do not fit a car cover which blocks air flow.

Its going into a locked garage. Not worried about tyres as they're all borderline legal anyway.

I've put mine on axel stands so I don't get any flat spots on the tyres.

Ditto, did mine not long back and forgot to do this.

Also will help on the old handbrake as well.

drive in turn off lock it leave it.

I often leave my 19 standing for 6 months or so at a time. Do nothing at all with it, just park it, leave it in gear with the handbrake only lightly on, and lock it up. It always needs jump starting off, but it's been stood up regularly like that now over the last 3 - 4 years without any problems
