my gears keep jumping out, me and number1 seam to think it's my clutch cable (as it doesn't go in either without force)

heres my problem - i bought a williams clutch, does that matter as the gear box i'm using is a valver? would that make a difference

Popping out of gear? Sounds like dog bone could be knackered?

is that with hard driving that it pops out?

my thoughts are that wen its in gear the clutch cable is then out of the question. but if you had trouble getting into gear when clutch pedal is pressed then it may be the cable.

correct me if im wrong......gearbox mount?

yeah under acceleration it jumps out............ but needs force to go in when the clutc is too the floor, but then if it's not in gear properbly then it will jump out

it's like when i accelerate i have to hold it in gear to stop it from coming outta gear!

yeah, i put the mount on myself but 2nd seams to be the worst - mind you i only put 2L of gearbox oil in would that make a difference?

lumoxs

yep selecting all gears are fine,

frenchy - i'm not doubting dave for one minute, did an excellant job on the conversion with me............ just a few things, he seams to think clutch cable and gear box oil

Did you put the little spacer back in where the linkage bolts to the selector?

tried changing the clutch cable on my own seeing as i never did one in my life and no joy!

managed to get the old one off and put the new on on the bearbox part, but then got to the pedal part of it all

and **** me where do i start! i have no idea what to do! it's really ****ed me off as i wanted to go for a drive tonight, just i didn't know what i was looking for to undo or anything.............

oh and i found out the screaming noise, theres a bolt rubbing on my alternator belt

mine used to do that with 2nd gear and my mates does too. so annoying. lol.

if its selecting gears as it should then the cable and linkage are doing their job, if the mounts are ok then its probably an internal selector fault as its not holding onto the gear when its put under force
