Tried everything to get this thing loose to fit my new belt but it just wont budge! Anyone with any ideas or solutions?

Have you undone the 7mm allen key in the centre?

allan key to hold it spanner over it to undo it... yes there a twat.. i rippered the teeth from the brack on mine... so had to mod the tensioning system

undo the alt bracket and pivot it in, fit belt pull back out tighten up, job jobbed

exactly how ive ended up doing it coz that thing wasnt coming loose! :)

see my review on changing the alternator.
it shows you pics of how i did mine.
use a 7mm allen bolt in a 10mm rachet spanner.

Manual steering conversion, never have these problems, and there is a lot more room in there for work too :)
