Hi,

Im collecting a mint valver next weekend, however i wont be able to use it immediately and it will be standing for a while, possibly over Xmas time..

I will completely clean it from top to bottom and waxyol or underseal all arches and sills.

But i want to put a cover on it too, is this a bad idea, i heard they can trap moisture underneath and cause rust to form? Whats the general best thing to do?

Sadly i dont have access to put it into a garage over winter.

Thanks.

we do ones that will breathe at work (Motor World), however they are not 100% waterproof, but, as it can still breathe then the moisture will go

don't use a car cover unless its a carcoon or similar. Covers wear through the paint in the breeze. Better to leave it out in the elements.

best type of cover is fully comp, followed by third party fire and theft, and then you can get third party only.

I agree, just give it a real good polish/wax to protect the paint over winter. Also, get some wax or vaseline and rub it around the arches if your not going to be driving it. Bikers do it to there chrome wheels in winter to stop them rusting ect..

My mate uses this cover on his RS4 and he has never had trouble with scratching or anything like that. only prob is that they are a bit expensive :(
