A kit, just the bodies or a drive in/drive out service?

i'm not to sure, it's a thought at the moment, suppose i would like both sets of prices for a

drive in drive out
and just the kit

all the parts, £2395.30

Fitted and mapped £2835.30

Optional short ally rad £495 which allow you to run longer trumpers and a better sized filter, cooler intake temps and more power essentially.

Ben, is this a similar kit to what Craig is running on his white un?

Ben, if I went to a smaller rad could I run longer trumpets and more power then?

lumoxs

what are the power gains............

Also interested considering the engine is out at the mo! Where abouts are you BenR?

Ben, is this a similar kit to what Craig is running on his white un?

Craig

Its similar, but the white clio uses the megane smallport head which we can run individual bodies on. The williams/valver has the bigport head which we run paired bodies on, but apart from that, its exactly the same.

I've also moved away from omex and onto more capable ECU's which are cheaper and simpler and more powerful. There are a range of ECU choices to suit you preference and budget so there is some leeway on price.

You might be able to, but i think on your car the rad has just been pushed forward and a peice of foil covering a section?

On a stock 2ltr, about 180bhp, with some cams about 200.

If you can get a manifold made you can build a kit using bike throttle bodies and a megasquirt ecu for less than £500. However it will be another £300 ish to map it unless you try and do it on the road, which works ok but you'll never get as much power as if you let an experienced person do it.

there are lots of ways to go about it, but being a company i cant really go an offer a set of horrid bike bodies and a megasquirt. I've yet to see anybody make a set of bike bodies fit nicely on an efficient manifold....its all just tubes and silicone hosing.

What are the gains with bike throttle bodies like compared to car-specific jobbies Ben? Seems to me they're really not as good for the job from what little I've seen.

The throttle body hardware I can supply is £2500 inc VAT fitted/mapped.

Ben, Stan how much would fitting of cams set me back? I was thinking of the fitting then I'd probably get a chipwizards remap after that unless you have a better alternative?

stan
13-10-2006, 09:27
If I supply the cams £200, if you supply them £250.

Chipwizards is the best solution at the moment really for OE mapping. Its something I will be offering in the not-so-distant future...but dont right now.

Thats less that I thought - How long are we looking for the install drive in drive out? distance being the main factor and time spans etc...

Drive in/drive out, option on the ally rad..........otherwise the power robbish stock rad stays where it is.

TBH there are other areas you can skimp on to make zero diff apart from slight appearance, but if you can, the rad is probably the best mod in terms of making everybodies lives easier and better.

ben, how much for a setup the same as craigs, ie with a megane head, cams etc. pm me a price if you prefer. thanks

does the rad effect power or mainly driveability with better mapping

BenR
16-10-2006, 19:55
when your raising inlet temps by 100%, there is a pretty marked decrease in power through loss of density and through sacrificial losses in ignition mapping.

MAXIBOY
16-10-2006, 20:01
worth having then as been as its 2500 grand for the bodies might as well spend the extra redies on the rad then

stan
16-10-2006, 20:02
As per Ben, the lower rad is the way forwards ideally.

Im currently looking at a far cheaper option to get round this issue....can be done quite easily i think.

Ive just bought a set of TBs for mine and was gonna start looking for a better rad - can either of you (stan/ben) pm me if you can supply one and at what price?

Cheers

BenR
16-10-2006, 22:58
£499 for a thick core shorter rad that uses all original piping, sensor placing and mounting points and comes with fan........simple plug and play.

I could dig round for a cheaper rad and spend time adapting something to fit, but i prefer a neat solution which just drops in place and doesnt require me dicking about.

could stan/ben give me a quote to have all 3 done! thanks

stan

circa £3200 all in from me for t.b's inc Catcams camshafts and pulleys.

BenR
23-10-2006, 00:29
£3199.95 :P

Do you just keep the rad in the stock placement, or do you lower it included in that price, as i dont. I always advise the shorter rad, its so much better.......but it cant be done all inc with the rad for anywhere near that price.

stan
23-10-2006, 14:34
You knobber  !

That would be with stock rad in the normal place. As we've both said, it is HEAVILY advised to use a low rad...I dont see the point in spending £2.5k on a revised intake system, and NOT spend an extra £400 to make it a whole lot better.

I actually think from now on, i'll stop quoting with the stock rad :)

stan
23-10-2006, 14:37
So £2900 for ITB install, complete with ally low-rad and fan...all in, mapped, drive in, drive out.

Cams and pulleys added on request...as is head work.

BenR
23-10-2006, 22:47
you could just drill 4 holes in the rad for the trumpets :P
