does it really need to be there?

my exhaust has been messed around with more times than a 2 dollor hookers fadge.....

i need to stop it tapping (which it is on gear changes etc)..think the only thing it is tapping on now is the heatshield.

ran without one for a bit, didnt seem to do any damage but cud feel the heat inside without it comin off chassis (cars stripped) and i figured its there for a reason so stuck ti back on. turned out for me it wasnt that that was banging! :lol:

I dont have one, but i dont have anything inside to worry about being heated up as such.
Should be allright, but i think its purpose is to protect the sound insulation and stop heat getting through.

hhmmmmm well i have an interior so i don't wanna be damaging that

it is definately that tapping.......i wonder if i can get it off and reshape the thing..got to be cheaper than a stright through pipe
