You carnt beat the great satisfaction of fitting brand new parts to your car guys....especially one that transforms the williams from something that steered like a jelly mould to the pin sharp hot hatch that the car is !

Didnt take me 2 hours as Mr Brown said lol, think i did it in around 5. (do lunner, 2live and Mr Brown have a time machine :winkey:)
The heater duct was the only area that slowed me down as i couldnt work out how it came away from the dash housing on the right hand side...once i had found the snaps it was plain sailing. Only thing i need now is a new nyloc nut for the column to rack as the kit didnt come with one.

The column had a nice new label with the date of manafacture on 01.09.06 :approve: Av it !

I now have the old one (06.1995) which im going to strip down to investigate - I will hopefully be having some new inserts machined to allow people to recondition them soon as 0171's column looks like it isnt far behind NLRG's.

I didnt bother, just pulled the column out with it in place, i tried but couldnt get the duct out so carried on shoehorning the column in and out

heehee, well i took it out as Mr Brown said on one of his earlier posts.
Could of left it in tbh - but removing the vent and speaker from the pod made acsess easier to learn how it fitted (snap clip top and bottom) that needed opening out !

I'm with Graham, just left it in place.
I just said watch out for the clip that snags onto it, not remove it.
