found out what the knocking was.....................

basically am a ****in idiot, oh and if you ever take your rear calipers off, make sure you use threadlock on the bolts when you put them back.

i shall say no more on the subject other than i've been a lucky boy

jus do em murder tight :D

This is one of the problems when people do their own work on the car, unless you know what you are doing you coudl kill yourself, ie wheel falling off at 120 on motorway......pretty good chance you'd die or get badley hurt

i don't use a torque wrench, only for internal engine parts, head bolts and wheel nuts

Once i forgot to put any wheel nuts into the alloy before lowering the jack... whoops.

Had a wheel practically fall off 30 miles after picking the willy up - that'll teach me to double check all the bolts!

I was doing 80-90 on one bolt!

yeah, numpty is a bit harsh, you speak to most mechanics and they've done it at some point, or something similar

plus all alloy wheel bolts should be rechecked after 100 miles anyway

had a mate have rear discs fitted and ten miles down the road the one rear tyre started rubbing. brought the car over to me as i was closer and turns out they had not located the bearing circlip properley and the bearing was moving about in the hub. allowing the wheel to move back and forth

theres no need for threadlockont eh rear caliper bolts.

Chances are the shit ally caliper threrads have had it though.
