Hi all, just got a williams 2, and the oil level gauge does not work, any one got any ideas????(apart from use the dip stick) thanks for any help. :D :lol:

dnt shout at me incase you know but the oil level dont work when the engines running.

oh and welcome 2 willy ownership. i got a willy 2 on tuesday :D

the oil level will only work for about 10/15 seconds after ignition. and then the needle will drop.

does the oil temp gauge work? They share a sender you see.

Yeah the oil temp and oil pressure gauges both worked. The oil level gauge was dead though, didn't even flicker on start up

i have this on my racing car mate.

Apparently i need to check to see if the sender from a known good car works the dial in mine....as the sender does both jobs. So one side of it could be broken.

In my case the oil temp works but the level doesnt. A new sensor will be a good starting point.

Check that your connector is fully clipped together. You should be able to see it near the idle control valve (or follow the wiring up from around the area where the dipstick goes into the block)
