whats better

for my williams conversion
a valver gearbox
or the williams one?

the engine is gonna run on the valver manifold and down pipe, until i can afford to get a williams set, don't know if that should make a difference to what gearbox i should use...........

I have a willy manifold / downpipe for sale if you need one....go for the willy box for strength or valver for better pull in 5th

makes no odds, they will both explode if you give them enough grief... imo I'd get the jb3 box as it's cheaper. 5th gear there's no difference in my experience, mine still topped out the same as Northy's everytime... think the taller 5th gear is a myth.

jb3 valver box does just under 120mph in 4th. hmmm im on a 7krpm limiter tho.

jc5 willy box does around 105mph in 4th iirc.

jc5 is much better box but ££££

yep the jc5 gears are not held in by circlips, there all heat/press fit gears, was a few other things aswell but cant remember right now, i did post it about a year ago

it annoys me that with a valver box at 80mph revs are just over 4krpm, is the willy box any different? 5th gear of course :wink:

108mph at 6,600 and about 112mph at 7,100. On my speedo anyway :)

i have amount for sale, which gives you alot more options-ie megane jc5 laguna jc5, 172 jc5 172 cup box. etc


i used a jc5 5053 box for a while and could hit 140mph in 4th
