Thought i'd let you guys have a look at the latest pictures, not far off completion now.
Williams track and coilovers are sorted, just need height and tracking etc sorted once the car has been put back together. ECU and loom are in place, head is ready to be bolted on.

clean16v
23-04-2005, 11:30
Yeah it has had some problems with parts not being there, Willy track needing a new rack 'cos old one had seized up track rods, and the usual problems associated with a demo project. All looking good to go now.
Brun, it does fit, JUST, rather sexy custom ally rad with a chunky ass fan is being dropped in, and the slam panel is being modified to fit the biigest trumpets possible. If you look at the way they point as well, when you look down the trumpet, its just one straight path to the head

Mark_Ritchspeed
28-04-2005, 08:42
Will it be having the individual sock type air filters?

clean16v
28-04-2005, 10:36
No its having a sausasge typr filter. Martin, the thought has crossed my mind but i reckon it'd be hard getting it to look good.....might see how i get on as it is, my main problem will be traction rather then more power!

NickFr
28-04-2005, 10:46

28-04-2005, 15:56
are you sticking with black hoses of fitting samco coloured?

clean16v
28-04-2005, 16:06
For the time being it is being kept standard....unless you know where i can source some cheap?

KingStromba
28-04-2005, 16:11
You have any warranty / guarantee with this car?

clean16v
28-04-2005, 16:12
A few things have been guarenteed........enough to make me part with my money.

KingStromba
28-04-2005, 16:13
Is the engine being rebuilt around the mods? Ie will you have to run it in?

VIPERONE
28-04-2005, 16:17
im picking up my blue samcos tomorrow... they are free... which was a deal made to me by the guy i bought the willy 2 off.

There is a company that makes then then distributes them to samco.. ie reselling.

clean16v
28-04-2005, 16:51
the engine wont need running in as its spending 8 hours on the rollers on tuesday, so it'll be run in nicely

J o n
28-04-2005, 17:03
plus, no point rebuilding a healthy low mile bottom end, Ben inspects em to make sure they are okay.

Craig
28-04-2005, 17:09
that looks ace pal, lookin forward to seein it in the flesh!

have you had any bottom end work done at all mate out of interest?

clean16v
28-04-2005, 17:40
no bottom end work been done Craig, obvious risks being taken there but the bottom end is in top notch condition according to Ben, and rev limit will be set accordingly so we dont encoutner any problems

VIPERONE
28-04-2005, 17:41
8 hours :-) will be an interesting day of major mapping!..
has the beast been started up yet?

clean16v
28-04-2005, 17:41
i say 8 hours....its been booked in for a full day, so whatever that is, if it needs more then so be it!

KingStromba
28-04-2005, 21:47
What tyre you running on front to help traction?

205's?

clean16v
28-04-2005, 21:52
Not decided yet, what would you recommend?

Winston
28-04-2005, 21:53
King stromba aproved 185/55 inner tubes

btw can't wait its going to be sick!!!!!!!!

KingStromba
28-04-2005, 21:54
Well i think youll need at least 195s to get better traction. Doesnt Nick Read run 205's?

clean16v
28-04-2005, 22:25
i think im going for the ones 9 Lives uses, he doesn't seem to have any traction problems and his car is a monster. 205's are they? PE2's of course....
Winston, can't wait either, but its almost straight away going to the bodyshop, unless you wanna swing by before to se it? Gibbo too?

Winston
28-04-2005, 22:48
Defo be swinging by......or trying to keep up on the way to the bodyshop:twisted:

VIPERONE
29-04-2005, 07:19

looking good, 200bhp on 1800cc?

Do you know how much the torque has increased yet?

Martin
04-05-2005, 16:36
It's a 2.0 fella..

TwisT
04-05-2005, 17:50
torque should be up quite a bit on the 2L?

what cams is it running for 200bhp? and how much did it cost ££££?

clean16v
04-05-2005, 18:12
price on appllication mate, not got a power figure yet, its being power run today, expecting 210ish bhp, no torque figure yet either but should be healthy. Test drive yesterday had it spinning, a lot, but it was wet and on crappy tyres....

clean16v
31-05-2005, 17:50
216 bhp, over 150lb/ft of torque from 4500 rpm, over 160lb/ft from 5k all the way to the 7300rpm redline peaking at 169lb/ft.
All is done, getting picked up on saturday as im hoping to have the 4 pots fitted this week

Irish Nut
31-05-2005, 17:58

not sure mate, depends on when the next 1/4 day is! It may have to go down to the pod as York doesn't have anything going on for a while!

Chris n`nic

are you gona use a LSD ?

y0z2a
01-06-2005, 13:01
he's normally got a penchant for crack, so the cheap stuff just doesn't do it for him.

(oh, and no LSD)

kj16v
03-06-2005, 13:07
Ooh those TBs look so good I could almost shag 'em! - if they were wider :P

How much was the whole TB setup?

Crack's cheaper than LSD - er, so I've heard.

J o n
03-06-2005, 14:16
no one will be able to say what the price is mate, it depends on the work you have done, as it is completely customised... ie some people have bottom end rebuilds and new pistons etc when they have this, other dont. Your best sending BenR a PM or e-mail (he's on Cliosport.net) and letting him know what you want exactly... although only ask for a quote if your fairly serious, as he gets grumpy if he has to quote something up and the person has no intention of getting it cos it's a pain in the arse to do. lol
