gearbox nitemare

ok as some of you know my gearbox in the rt has decided to have a better life else where ie 1st 2nd and 3rd have divorced me

so i buy a new gearbox off a bloke cheap a bit weary as i went to pick it up with only an ebay message to confirm i cud pick it up, so i didnt know the gearbox numba till i got there.

2hour scenic route drive and a £30 lunch i get there, get the box and get home ready to crack on and get it finished but notice the numbers are different

the one i bought ....JB1185

the bloke i bought it off said it shouldnt matter.

well it does! it looks the same but doesnt butt up to the engine, even without clutch and pressure plate so ive got a few questions please help if you can, all you lot know how frustrating probs like this are and i know ur all good people and will try and help!?

what are the differnces in the boxes???

can i separate the bell housings and swap them over???

cud i remove all cogs and bits and pieces and swap them over???

any help will be so helpful as the car is currently on axle stands on my drive and the old chaps arent the happiest :D
