Whats the furthest people have been in the valver/williams?

Im going to newquay with some mates, were going from colchester so its 350 mile trip/6 hours. Plannin to take many stops to let the cars recover for 10 minutes.

Were going down in a Valver, Fiesta RS and XR2i, any bets on what will break down first?!!

Whats the longest people have driven for before they started encountering problems?

driven 500 miles in mine with no stop with no problems mate, so long as your valver isnt a boag of nails you should be able to tell them you will meet them there

Longest single journey is Sharston > Warrington > Sparkford (Haynes motor museum)

Killer of a journey. The car can take it but my back was properly fooked.

500 miles!!! I done 250 with no stops and at the very end my battery light started flickering on and off, not sure if that had anything to do with have very high wattage bulbs in and turned on?!

U dont get a bad back with leather seats

I was going to be doing the same thing in july, from derby to newquay in the valver, decided it was far too small for 4 of us and luggage though so we're takin my parents sedona instead
I've every confidence it would've made it though, best to join the rac/aa just in case though mate ;)

How does leather help?

It's the seat back that's worn tbh. THe passenger side is supposed to be quite comfy. :(

We just take the Xsara on long journeys now. It's about 3,000,000 times better for doing it in and it's a better m-way muncher. Thirsty though, and quite easy to do highly illegal speeds in. 8-[

Longest journey i did in the valver was to FCS - just over 100 miles, i had siezed the starter motor with the heat from the engine bay by the time i got there..

The previous longest journey was when i went to Brighton, about 90 miles, overheated and blew a coolant hose on the way down from sitting in traffic for half an hour!

Not had much luck with long journeys in this car

middlesbrough to bedford then bournemouth, then same journey back approx 700 miles, no breakdowns or anything, but about 2 weeks later the valver caught fire and ended up as a shell

fooking hell do regularly 100+ mile trips longest is 240 back from newcastle non stop with a totally fooked wheel bearing, lower ball joint, and driveshaft

God i'd be disgusted if the car couldn't do decent long trips - they're not supposed to be fragile little things - at then end of the day they're hot hacthbacks!

Lunner

Hell if most of them can take a day's abuse round a track i'm sure they can take a 350 mile journey

Just top everythign up and take spare coolant and oil and keep an eye on the temps, as long as you aren't sat at 120 all the way i can't see any problems

Longest I ever did was to Germany a bit over 700 miles I think it was which wasn't easy with the coilovers and hard bucket seats. The back roads bottomed out the supension none stop had to slow down all the time.

Didn't break down once in what was probably 1600mils or so including ring driving I was prepaired though had a spares kit Renault UK would have been proud off.
