was reading throught the haynes manual today and it was telling u how to do a single wiper conversion, was wondering if any1 had done this before and if it worked well!
any info on this will be much appreciated!

you mean the MAX POWER haynes manual?? :wink:
i havent done it on mine but i did it on my mates RT, looks quite cool actually and works just as well as dbl blades 8)
thats with the kit obviously...no idea if u can bodge it :?

Well its not so much of a bodge, you just extend the one linkage so that it makes the central one swivel round more.

right what i will do is get an a spare set of wiper linkage etc and will give it a true and if its bodged up i will just put the existing linkage back on!
now lol.... any 1 got some instructions on how to do this :lol:

take the scuttle covers off and turn the wipers on, it will become blindingly apparent what you have to do. There is one length of the linkage that needs to be extended about and inch maybe more. but that will make the central wiper have more of a sweep about it
I was tempted to do this on the valver - looks reet good when its done properly..
Don't think i'll do it on the willy though - it would shout at me :shock:

lol should have bought it but i really hate the haynes manuals and grudge paying £15 for it lol! :)
but i will have a looky tonight and pm winston to c if he has any tips on the matter

just swap the driver side wiper over to other side, set it at an angle like so, and walla, wipes my side well anyway! who cars abotu the passenger :lol:
i wouldnt bother personally, had it on my clio gtt and im glad ive got both wipers on the valver

Looks gash in my opinion.
They dont look to bad, but why half your wiping efficiency?
Sometimes 2 wipers can barely keep up so why risk loosing the car in a bad weather situation because of looks.
WTF is chav about one wiper lol ....race cars have single wipers :roll:

i had a single wiper on my old ax gt, it was rubbish in medium to heavy rain.
may look kinda cool, but not worth it imo

A single wiper is not chav at all. I have a 22" single wiper on my valver thankyou very much.
It wipes better than any 2 crappy small blades and it looks good. They look good on some cars if you get them to sit in the middle.
Like Winston said, less is more.
Just get some decent blades and standard wipers are good enough.

google image clio rally car clio cup, you'll be pushed to find a single wiper conversion on the renault sport cars lol
Rain X plus valeo silicone wipers will do the job more than adequately...

I dont know how it wipes better I'm not a wiper expert. It just clears the water better, maybe something to do with the longer arm I dont know. When it is raining heavy or my windscreen is dirty an I spray the screen wash tho my wiper seems to throw the water off the windscreen an onto cars that are miles away, must be the longer throw I suppose. Does clear it better tho. LOL

The new flat blades made by valeo and bosch IMO look better than a single wiper arm. Valeo make some that fit standard wiper arms you just have to order the right length wipers.

Suppose it depends what baldes you have and as everything personal preference.
