Just got back from the rally   .Not a good day, seeded 50,finished the first stage in 30th position, second stage going very quick ~~~ caught an EVO going in to one of the chicanes  8) ,THEN,went down on power, managed to book in and get a time, and pushed car back to service   ,time for stage was 11 seconds quicker than first run through  .OOP's the crank had vented all the oil into the catch tank, and oil everywhere, cleaned it all up,whipped out the plugs   ,looks like a piston/rings.
Back to the drawing board

A few pictures ~~ my camera was playng up.
The engine shot is my mates ~~ 200bhp @ flywheel(did have  ) got us up to around 120mph down the long straights   .
The White Clio,is off a similar spec.but look at the gearbox pic ~~ sequential from A Renault Sport Spider  8) .
And finally the Megane ,ex French Megane cup car,the suspension has been turrreted ~~~~ properly   ~~ not like the Clio rally car on ebay !!!.Done by Harry Hockly Motor sport, and fitted with remote cannister Proflex coil overs ~~ these run out at about £1000 EACH !!! http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h305/Cliorod/Picture346.jpg

2Live,on this car,he has the bonnet on four pins, and on the front has lifted it by placing thick rubber hosing over the pins ~~ under the bonnet.
He does not do the night stages and therefore no light pod.

Northy,
Not 100% sure, but it is "SODEMO" ~~ Renaultsport engine on TB's  , I would suggest around the 200/220bhp mark  .The brakes look like proper Renault sport~~ front and rear   .Very nice car,he had a problem on the first stage, but his time for the second, was 11:16,we did a 10:54   with engine goosed

Northy,
Do not know the guy ~ I just saw the cars on the entry list. They are supported by A.C.Williams,a Renault dealers in Lincolnshire.I think they rally down that neck of the woods ~~ although my told me,they were at MIRA on a rally there.
I might be able to get some ex-Prodrive WRC Tarmac calipers ,either Alcon/AP.The friend of mine who deals with them is currently in the Middle East   on an event, will get a price, when he is back if your interested, you need the bells and brackets then.Have you any contacts within the engineering trade ???

Hi, I was the driver of the white clio, just thought id call in a and have a look :P

The day went more or less ok for us, on the first stage the throttle stuck open which was interesting to say the least and we lost about 6 minutes. Later on also had a bit of scare when we found a split petrol pipe under the bonnet on the way to the stage start.

Our other clio also lost all its water and has lost compression.

The engine in my car is on throttle bodies, titanium valves and gubbins and originally had a lightweight flywheel and crank, and a block with nickesel coated bores. Made it to 240bhp on the dyno.

Unfortunately it put a rod through the side so now we use a slightly less tuned bottom end on the old head, resulted in a much more drivable car with I guess bout 220bhp

you'll probably pickup some nice torque by running substantially more induction length.

Hello and welcome - glad that youve paid us a visit Rod would of been bombarded with questions over your car !

Like the visual spec of it (especially the renaultsport gearbox)- but what its history ? Is it a williams 2 shell ? And can we have some more pictures (and some of the instrument panel)

Enjoy williamsclio

I think you said the same thing when I posted on cliosport.net ages ago

It is just such a squash to fit an airbox on over the top of the radiator and alternator as it is without having longer trumpets.

Ill have to scan in the graph of the orignal torque and power curve.

Ill post some more info when I get back from work
