Well, I'm running a bit low on the front toyo t1-s's (think smooth inner edges lol) so am thinking about what to get next.

I've not been particularly happy with the toyos - although they do grip well in the dry and never squeal under pressure, wet handling is a bit iffy and, to be honest, they 'squirm' too much during cornering. :?

I was thinking that perhaps it's just because they're low that they're not gripping and therefore are moving about more, but less tread = more tyre on the road = more grip, surely?

Then I remembered something that was said on passionford about them having sidewalls that were too soft, and I think I agree - the grip is still there but they just don't 'bite' on turn in so I don't trust them.

Mat commented on them as well when he worked on the car, so I don't think it's just me!

I don't really want to go to 195s so comments on different 185s are welcome 8)
I'm thinking about F1s as they're only £52 at the moment on mytyres...

F1's seem to be the best option

I love the F1s on the front of mine takes a serious amount of high speed cornering to get them squealing never mind loosing grip.

PE2s are like £70 each on mytyres though! But I'm led to believe that they have stiff sidewalls?

I might have to go with the F1s then, though I hate smearing them over the road when they cost good money... lol

The toyo's were going to just be a summer tyre but I ran them over winter in the end too. Wear has been pretty good but I'm pushing a bit harder now it's dry and they're rapidly wearing out!

Big and important question: do you intend to track it?

For what it is worth,I do not use my Williams for trackdays etc  :~~ only the odd Road Rally   .But I have used Falken RE152 ~~ on both mine and the wifes Valver ~~ I got 4 ~ Four !!!!! fitted and balanced for £160 all in.I thought this was well cheap.
http://www.tyresblackpool.co.uk/ ~~ ask for Tony ~~ he also has loads of 15" Slicks/Wets etc.Absolutely brilliant guy,can advise etc etc on ALL your tyre needs.
Plus he his a mate of mine

Does that mean we get discount? ;)

On the tracvk front been using a set of illegial F1's, performed very wekll till they go so thin they went off after about 3-4 laps.

Got 3 left after 3-4 track days, swapped the n/s/f for a rainsport, doens't seem to take ti as well as the F1's did, but then its a softer compound with softer sidewalls

all road tyresyou'll find go off after a few laps, they aren't designed for it, if you want soemthing that will go for laps and laps go for semi slicks at £100 a corner

sorry to resurrect an old thread but i was searching for some info on yokohama advan tyres and came accross this thread, as i am local to blackpool i thought i would ring cliorods mate to see if he could give me any information even if the last post was 4 years old, he worked out lots of different calculations and confused me with lots of different information about tyre sizes, tyre compounds, using different tyre brands and sizes on different axles, the weather, but it was all good info and he definatley knows what he is talking about, so i have ordered 4 yoko advan neova ad08 tyres and they were the smae price, fitted and balanced as they are just to be delivered from mytires and blackcircles

top bloke and would hihgly reccomend!
