I have a set of lightweight 14" rims waiting to go on wife's car. Now looking for light weight tyres. But can't find any info on tyre weight.

Is there anywhere on the net that list out the weight of tyres? Or does anyone know of any particular lightweight tyre (preferably R14) to recommend?

Thanks.

Get some part worns the worn off tread will remove some weight

I'm not sure about lightweight tyres never really felt much difference between makes tbh.

Held up some Conti tyres years ago (one of the original ecocontact models) and was quite surpised how light they felt. Thought I might try and source a light tyre to go with the rims. Am a big fan of light unsprung weight, as it can really spice up a car's handling. I just wish tyre manufacurers would put tyre weight in their spec sheets.

I've heard the original Ecocontact Continental tyres are pretty light.

I have narrowed the choices down (due to size/stock availability).
1) Yokohama ES100
2) Hankook Ventus RS2
3) BF Goodrich g-sport
4) Bridgestone GIII
Any general comments on them?

Am leaning towards the Hankook as ultra-high perf tyres on my wife's econobox would be so mad (and probably noisy) :D
