Hi everyone im new and just wondered if you could help me out, ive got an N reg valver and the gearstick keeps moving when letting my foot off the revs and also over bumpy roads, im guessing thats the engine mounts? Had a look and cant see much but ive heard something about this dogbone mount or summat like that? Could that be the problem? Thanks for you help, cheers, Rob

sounds like the old doggie one ai mate, its down the bottom of the engine, in the middle, jack it up and have a look, its attached to the bottom of the engine and the bulkhead base, as lunner says not expensive and a piece of piss to change! 8)

oh and welcome! :P

its not a difficult job matey, linkage is just the arm from bottom of gear lever to box, its telescopic, one bolt to undo and readjust. nip it up and see if itse better. never done it myself but sure sum1 will point u in right direction! 8)

Even with a newish one you get a bit of movement. If you look at it from the side there is a rubber within a rubber. its the outer one that makes all the movement. I modded my wiliams one with 2 13mm bolts to basicaly lock the outer to the inner, its sooooooooooooo much better and you won't get any movement OR rattle from the engine

just a tip 8)
