Since I have learnt how to post pictures :P ,a few more of me in action.
The Gt Turbo, was a 200bhp projectile, but stopped rather quickly, when we hit a gate post at Flookborough about 80mph   .Only damage was to my pride and pocket   Nice 35th Birthday present :? :? .
They are all photos of photos, cos I aint got a scanner ??? .
The rest are of the Tour of Mull,my annual pilgramage each October ~~ known by everyone as "The best Rally in the World" ~~ the first closed road rally in Britain ?? ~~~ Tobermory ~~~ better known to most recently as the settings for kids daytime tellyprogramme BALAMORY.
enjoy.Where all the action starts

Loving the pics rod, love the airbourne pics!

I'd love to get in to Hillclimbing, quite a way from you down here in southampton though, i'm sure they must have some events in the southdowns I could go along to though, will have to find out.

I spend quite a bit of time driving (well racing really) late at night on single track lanes etc, so I guess the next step would be to do it properly.

If you've any contacts/clubs you could recommend/know of down this way rod, I'd appriciate it !

Matt,
The car that year ~~ Std Williams engine, except for a Renault Gp A chip  Green filter Induction kit,and a big bore stainless exhaust. But the thing that made me quicker was a Willwood Big Disc kit :? :? ~~ under the 17" wheels   ~~ seriously like having a sixth gear.My times over previous years stages was up by 3/5 seconds a mile, knowing and using the middle pedal would STOP you  .On the last stage a 14.7 miler, known as the Hill road ~~ Glen Aros,I got brave and got it upto around the 110mph mark.Callum Duffy the rally winner, had some banter with us,after the event telling us ~~ he was in a 2.2 Millington diamond ( BDA) engined Escort Mk II,6 speed sequential box   ,his brother Del co-driving,went down the same road ~~ oh dear pulling 8000rpm in sixth   ,change light permenantly on ~~ geared to pull 140mph flat in sixth.   He his/was the postman on the Island.

Stew,
That was 2002,I/we finished last overall   ,something like about 65th out of 120/130 starters.Regarding car being on a "Q" plate, never noticed any real difference,As I have said in earlier posts ,I am a well old B**tard   I insured it with Competition car insurance, declared every last mod, limited mileage etc.owner driver. They run a scheme, wherby they will give you 3rd party cover between stages, which normally is organised with the club.It helps if you send a copy of your competition licence ~~ guess they realise then, that you/we are not muppets :P :P .They are Based in Nottingham

Summeh,
If you go on the MSA website www.msauk.org.I think if you look around there you will find a host of Motor clubs down your way.If they are like ours,they/we are always on the lookout for the next generation of helpers/doers etc   They will advise you on what to do to your car   ~~ depending on which Motorsport discipline you choose to pursue  .
I can safely say though after 20 plus years   .It becomes both expensive and addictive ~~~ good fun though, and you get to meet some cracking blokes ~~~ I am out on the p**s,at our clubs presentation on Friday, with Ian Grindrod ~~ used to co-drive for Jimmy McRae ( yup Colins dad   ) The late Henri Toivenen,Roger Clark,Tony Pond, and Malcolm Wilson ( Head of M Sport ~~ Ford WRC) and others. ~~ Really great bloke.
