View Full Version : Moving to darkside......
When I fix my wiliams (alternator) and come back from holiday i'm going to sell it. I really fancy a clio cup with a few mods. Love my williams but really fancy a cup.
So keep your eyes peeled on for sale section. Not online much at minute as internet up swanny but should be getting sorted this week.

yep looks that way.
i'm under pressure to keep it though. just love cups
Another one to join me on the darkside!!! That 2 in one week!!!
 well i hope your happy!!!! lol good luck fella but dont poodle off back to cliosport! keep it real here! :D
I wouldn't go anywhere paul.
My dilema is this,
Williams if i keep it needs:-
front end resprayed due to stone chipping little dent,
one polished lip dressing again where I caught it , other than that its mint and fast.
Its just hit 97 so if i keep it I'd like to renew all the bits on it like mounts, suspension, calipers etc.
Do I spend another 2/3k on it or sell up and put that money towards a cup and have a newer car????????
Opinions welcome.
Who else has moved over?
Richy's looking at a mk2 ph1, his willys gone pop again!
Oh dear.
He's not had any luck with his williams, none at all.
i know your a stickler for perfection with your willy and it is such a nice one too! nowt rust and fast as ****!!! but if you sell you will regret it for a while... but if you wanted to get another in the near future i doubt you would find one as clean and immaculate as urs mate! but whatever you decide good luck!!! :D
I know what your saying Paul.

I'd rather sell up and move on than spend another 2 or 3k on the willy personally
I'd get a 172 cup..nice cars.
Would it really cost you 3k to get it upto standard?
I like the cups myself and would gladly have one sat on the drive but the initial outlays going to cost and what if its a shitter a few k down the line - it'll cost a whole lot more than keeping the willy tip top..
I know which i'd do but the other options not a bad one either!

keep the wiliams
And there was me thinking the 'darkside' represented 5 GT turbos...
Cough cough for sale forum cough cough
Unless you are REALLY comfortable with the Willy or any 16V for that matter, there is always that devil in your head that keeps telling you its a 10 year old car...and somethings gonna let go soon...
a daily temptation to trade in for newer model, but what you save in piece of mind..you will loose on sheer fun and driving enjoyment..
As said before not bad choices either way mate..just hope you find a good un....cause lets face it..it has to be to replace a Willy!! :D
i sold my cup for a williams the williams is a much better car never looked back

I disgree with that. Both are excellent cars, depending on what you look for in each.

ive heard a few people say the same thing about selling up a cup and buying a williams
personally id never trade my valver for a mk2 but thats just me
oh theres no doubt that there both amazing cars its just that with the williams i cant wait to drive it i just didnt get that with the cup although its similarly specced it dosnt feel as raw etc as the williams

Also looking at cossies and m3's.
In leamington the other night tehre was a mint E reg M3 8)
Do it Scott you know you want to  I thought you were getting a CTR as they are called the darkside on cliosport  but glad when I read it that you are possibly planning to stay with the RS family 8)
Mate in work is selling his cup HP to fund a Trophy, I'll PM details if you like. He's also got a Williams 2 so he's clio mad and looks after his cars.
Personally I'd keep the Williams and buy a cheap 2nd car and replace all the bits you need over time, not many left in the condition yours is in. Good luck whatever you decide though mate!

sorry been on me hols,
i will be selling mine, it wont be back on road for a few month yet as i start training soon and dont care about it no more, bored with the constant agro its given me.
i sold my cup for a williams the williams is a much better car never looked back
Depends what you're looking for mate, I've driven both and found that the Cup is a little slower and not as sharp, felt a little 'soft', but much better as an every day car as my Williams is raw, with rock hard suspension and terrible fuel consumption! Still have my Williams over one any day tho
id keep the williams and spend the money on it thats needed.....but thats only cuz thats exactly what im doin lol
if u want a newer car i wudnt get a clio.....rocus RS or sumthin
