When I fix my wiliams (alternator) and come back from holiday i'm going to sell it. I really fancy a clio cup with a few mods. Love my williams but really fancy a cup.

So keep your eyes peeled on for sale section. Not online much at minute as internet up swanny but should be getting sorted this week.

I wouldn't go anywhere paul.

My dilema is this,

Williams if i keep it needs:-

front end resprayed due to stone chipping little dent,
one polished lip dressing again where I caught it , other than that its mint and fast.

Its just hit 97 so if i keep it I'd like to renew all the bits on it like mounts, suspension, calipers etc.

Do I spend another 2/3k on it or sell up and put that money towards a cup and have a newer car????????

Opinions welcome.

i know your a stickler for perfection with your willy and it is such a nice one too! nowt rust and fast as ****!!! but if you sell you will regret it for a while... but if you wanted to get another in the near future i doubt you would find one as clean and immaculate as urs mate! but whatever you decide good luck!!! :D

I'd rather sell up and move on than spend another 2 or 3k on the willy personally

I'd get a 172 cup..nice cars.

Daz.
17-06-2006, 11:51
Would it really cost you 3k to get it upto standard?

I like the cups myself and would gladly have one sat on the drive but the initial outlays going to cost and what if its a shitter a few k down the line - it'll cost a whole lot more than keeping the willy tip top..

I know which i'd do but the other options not a bad one either!

Unless you are REALLY comfortable with the Willy or any 16V for that matter, there is always that devil in your head that keeps telling you its a 10 year old car...and somethings gonna let go soon...

a daily temptation to trade in for newer model, but what you save in piece of mind..you will loose on sheer fun and driving enjoyment..

As said before not bad choices either way mate..just hope you find a good un....cause lets face it..it has to be to replace a Willy!! :D

I disgree with that. Both are excellent cars, depending on what you look for in each.

Mate in work is selling his cup HP to fund a Trophy, I'll PM details if you like. He's also got a Williams 2 so he's clio mad and looks after his cars.

Personally I'd keep the Williams and buy a cheap 2nd car and replace all the bits you need over time, not many left in the condition yours is in. Good luck whatever you decide though mate!

Depends what you're looking for mate, I've driven both and found that the Cup is a little slower and not as sharp, felt a little 'soft', but much better as an every day car as my Williams is raw, with rock hard suspension and terrible fuel consumption! Still have my Williams over one any day tho
