Soon i will be going from an mr2 to a Williams

I think a turbo JDM would be a downgrade in straight-line dash going to the Williams. But most other MR2 models would be on par or an upgrade to a Williams. And a 2-seater to a 5-seater is also big bonus too, IMO.

if you are buying, look for the following

rust under doors, tailgate, arches.
how old is the clutch
" " cambelt
" " pas pump


apart from that, 1's are plated, 2's arent, 3's have a sunroof.

mileage/service history/originality all add to the value.

get some further advice from here before you part with your cash!

Definitely making the right decision mate, my mate had a Mk2 GTI MR2 and I drove it a few times and it doesn't even compare to the Williams performance wise. He used to call mine a 'grannys car' until he drove it, he went very quiet after that! lol!

My advice is to go for the best phase 1, 2 or 3 you can find, the visual difference between them is very slight, and mechanically they are all exactly the same, altho you do get a gold plaque with the 1's, but if u aint arsed about hertitage and all that go for any of the 3
