Driving into Norwich last night, come of a roundabout minding my own business, and suddenly my mate is hanging of my arse in his Ferrari 360, i poodle along at 30 to the next roundabout, and then floor it... obviously he keeps up easily and is looking to overtake until we pass a police car going the other way as we're both doing about 80 in a 30 limit, so he turns of and i carry on.

Anyway, inadvertantly i catch up with some young lad in a Lotus Elan SE, who obviuosly though i wanted to race due to the speed i was going. We both played from the roundabouts, me gaining on him coming out, and we head out of the city to some traffic lights which lead onto the dual carriageway. Lights on red, side by side, and then we go......i had him through 1st and 2nd, but once into 3rd he started to pull back and passed me at about 80...... my first race against anything decent since i've had the car. Lotus driver didn't look to happy! hehe

I though those Lotus elans only has about 120 bhp or something? Suppose they are quite light though.....

Well i didn't even know they were a turbo until i heard the dump valve on it. I looked up some figures for it though, and seems to be 165bhp, 0-60 is 6.5 and 0-100 iin 17.5 so they're actually quicker than i imagined them to be, obviously why he pulled back in the end

I've been thinking i've got a slow one since i got it a month ago. The fact my girlf keeps up fairly well in her 206cc first made me suspect

She's definatly a Williams. Im not saying that i can't beat her 206, but i've just always been surprised that with the little extra power the Williams has, combined with the massive weight advantage, i don't pull away more

Think the Williams needs to go on the rollers and be set-up when i have some spare cash......... :?

Do you want one of my Williams to break for spares? You can have the engine/box etc for free

Not changed the filter or plugs or anything yet. I've got an hp Ind kit to fit yet which i haven't got round to, so that will be getting done soon. The car was on 103k when i bought it, but its now nearly on 105k, so i was planning to change the plugs and leads etc when i have the 108k service done, should only be a month or two til then
