Battery light

Ok probally a dump question but here goes.

My battery light keeps coming on whilst driving. Had a look in the manual and says that it could be either over charging or discharging and to get the circuit checked. Just a bit worried as this happened on my 205 and it ended up being the alternator.

Any idea's???

I had that on my 1.4. :oops:

Was the voltage regulator on the altinator.

Get a recon one, Ive got the number somewhere for a top bloke in the midlands if you want. Was about 40/50 quid i think.

Does the light go out when you rev it harder by chance?...

well it kept coming on when i was sat in traffic then when i got going it would go out. but now its just on all the time

you want to get that sorted mate, your car will just die if the battery isnt charging. Happend to me in my 1.4, alternator was fooked!

More than likely the alternator mate. check the connections to it and the battery connections. In the end it will just stay on and your car will stop lol

Yeh get it sorted, i nearly missed my christmas doo and embaressed the fook out my girlfriend when i had to redline it in trafic to keep enuf juice to run the fuel pump etc :twisted: it was mint

Any idea's on how much and and how easy it's to change?

It' s not going good for me in the last month ive snapped the clutch cable, starter motor went and now the alternator :cry:
