View Full Version : 306 throwing drop links, anyone help?
My girlfriends 306 keeps busting drop links on the passenger side... they have a wierd set up where by the anti roll bar is connected to a drop link, which then connects to the bottom of the strut.
the droplinks are plastic, and i've just put a new one on as the old one bust off, but this time the new one has just bust after maybe 100 miles, whilst turning on full lock going over some bumps.
Anyone got experience of these? Or know a pug forum I could ask on?
Cheers

My mates says 306's have a common fault with drop links
cheers tried there first but u cant search or view posts unless u a paid up member :)
is it a common fault to bust a new droplink after just 100 miles though ???
it is a similar set up on the scoob.....
have you checked the bushes are all OK? Could be a knackerd bush is putting extra strain on the link?
i have checked all the arb bushes, hub ball joint etc and all seems ok, im wondering whether knackered shock/top mount could do it though? tis the only thing i havn't checked.
the trackrod end balljoint is knackered on the passenger side (rubber split) (the side which keeps busting the droplink), could this affect it in any way though? wouldn't have thought so?
Nah, wouldn't of thought so.
Something is obviuosly putting too much stress onto the link. How is it breaking, just a clean snap, twist..?? Will give you a clue to what is happening.
Is it standard suspension?
