i've got an idea what it is but i want to double check.

is there a plug missing from the top and something missing where its baige nearest the strut top?
the reason i ask is because the haynes says there should be a CO mixture petintiomitor where the beige bit is.

ok so thats all sorted, but on a slightly different note how many different varients of the 16v engine are there? obviously there's the 1.8 and the 2.0 but did the 1.8 (for example) come in different formats or did they just make the one type of engine?

different in the renault 19 and the clio due to the ancilleries of the engine f7p 722 is the clio and f7p 714 is a 19 engine in addition to this some 16v's came with an oil cooler like the williams but most did not do after the williams was manufactured
