are tthe manual brackets off a 19 or megane. think i have a set kicking around.
They're off an 1.7 19 or volvo.
Full parts list for this is already available? Have you found another way of doing it?

Doesn't look like the same way that Northy's Cup runs. That looks normal apart from the idler pulley.
Cup racers use a different manual rack and a 'dummy' pump...same belt length etc as std though. Don't know why - the above setup is genuine renault and was around before the cup racers... :?
Gunner, is that the water pump pulley in the bottom of the second pic, with the belt running the wrong side of it?.... ...and binned the tensioner pulley for the adjustable altinator brkt.
Is yours a willey or a valver, i.e. wide track or not.
Reason im asking these questions is coz, just done a manual conversion and I'm kinda stumped on belt routing (still running the pump at mo with man rack, just re-cercing) and dont recon I'll be able to get it tracking right with a safe amont of thread engagement in the rod ends.
Could do with any help coz I'm throwing my toys out the pram at the mo.
Cheers, Jonny

You sack the aux pulley and remove the power steeering pump.. and then use a shorter belt.
the ps pump can seize up when dr! so be careful!
Have you got the belt running the wrong side of the water pump pulley wheel though?...
It's a pic of my hybrid and fitted wrong lol

LOL @ Winston!
eagle eyes these forums have
Belt shoudl run i'm guessing round the crank pulley(not fitted), over top of water pump pulley, round alternator and back to crank pulley?

Just tried the belt i was supplied with by u33db, 850mm, blatently too long, thats the only way i can see it routing.
Will invest in a shorter belt, i'm thinking possbily 650mm or 700mm, will ahve to have a play

carful with contact on the water pump pulley n all, if it dont bend round it enough it'll slip!
I know, but if you look at the contacts it has as std tehre isn't a massive amoutn more, plsu i'm planning on roughing up the water pump pully with some 60 grit paper, plus also tehre isn't alot of resistance on the water pump pulley
not much resistance atm there aint mate, but when its spinning at xxxxrpm against boiling water at pressure betcha there is! :P
If the water temp shoorts up ill let ya know :P
Cheers, for the extra pix guy's, mucho useful nusss.
Lunner, dont suppose you might be able to come up with a actual length before i pull mine to bits
Cheers again, Jonny
I will ahve a correct length, hopefulyl by the end of the week

803mm belt, although its a tad tight getting it on, so maybe one 10mm longer or so?
Slightly converned about the amount of grip it has on the water pump, will rough it up perpendicular to the direction of the belt travel with some 60 grit paper
get it on the wrong side of the water pump and it'll spin the wrong way.....not good.
yeah hence why its going over the top
was looking at gunners ;)
:P
Always got an answer

was looking at gunners ;)
the pictures are not from my car!!
Winstons16v is theman
don't see the drama myself, go to halfords buy belt from a non ps 1.7 19/5 and put it on straight away.
or measure it with a bit of rope, got to local car components store and get the, to order a 6 rib belt the right length, go back in the afternoon and collect it, can't see the drama either
