found a williams today, number 0048 supposedly, but thats a LHD one according to the register on blogspot:

0048
This car is a Renault Show car in their Historic Collection. It is left hand drive.

Photography by Mat Zollo, 2005 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

thing is i checked it over and its definatly a williams of some form, its on an 'L ' plate so that says 1, its sunroof less so thats 1 or 2 and its got all the other right bits.its willy exhaust manifolded and all badges bar the williams transfers are present

thing is the guy said it was from a breakers yard that fixed up a minor rear shunt for him before he bought it, he saw the damage and the car previous and confirmed it was all as it is now except the work done on the rears. which involved full respray from door pillars back. its had a new bootlid n all. that accounts for the top spec paintwork (its blummin tidy) and the lack of rust on the arches and lack of transfers!oh and no boot spoiler

inside looked spot on n all, 75k, all blue trim present and a plaque on the dash........0048! :?

how can this be? the plaque looks genuine, it doesnt look like a knock off, but is it common for this to happen?for copied plaques to crop up?

didnt the number lhd and rhd williams the same? so in theory theres basically two of each number. i always thought that was why there was confusin if 001 was crashed or not. the LHD was crashed but not the RHD 001 if thats makes sense?

well if evrything seems right, and all the tell tale signs point to it being right, log book etc, then the only thing left is......that the register is wrong....seems to be a few that dont make it on the register dependant on th eowner it seems ;)
