Why group 12?

why is the valver group 12 when most similar performance hatches are higher, 5gtt is 14 or something and Williams is 17 isnt it.

i recon the R5 is higher cuz its a TURBO and the williams is so high not just becuase of performance but cuz its a "ltd edition car"....those are my thoughts anyway :)

Plus things like having ABS as option/std also bring it down.

Its becuase the 16v is so underestimated, it never gets the credit it deserves tbh. Its just as quick as all the gti's if not quicker. Insurance companys are blind to it im sure.

the insurance group is dependant on how many accidets/claims ppl have in that type of car isnt it? as well as engine size/performance.

They can vary on that basis I think, but the valver tends to be about grp 12 now. It is hard to understand because the likes of the R19 16v is a grp 15, and TBH I would have thought the clio would be about the same.
