200bhp with throttle bodies.

Swervin_Mervin

How the hell was it that quick then with only 200horses?

Rich
30-05-2006, 12:16

When I got out after the 1st stint Mike and Adi were laughing at how quick it was as well.

That car is mental, was great watching it push bb tunings turbo round the track :P

Swervin_Mervin

Yes I laughed as they came ripping past me and he was pushing them along. :P

The paperwork he had lying about said it was 230bhp....

Martin
30-05-2006, 12:43
I believe it has a fully built up engine running 220-230 bhp stripped to ****.....RAPID, sounded ace too..

Swervin_Mervin
30-05-2006, 12:47
He drives like a mentalist as well. I moved over at the last tight corner just befor the pit lane and watched him through that 1st bend and he got airborne. 8)

The only way to justify buying a mk2 would be to do that to it. :P

Coops
30-05-2006, 13:31
why? do it to a mk1 instead! 230 horses n fully stripped mk1 wud work!

lol....i reckon a well sorted bodied willy would give it a run for its money like...but comparin to the mainly std williams, valvers etc out there, it was flying.

never even saw the noble on track tbh, only saw the elise wen it went passed evryone during a yellow flag......very naughty

Actually, Craigs aint far off that. would of been interesting to see his on track if it could of made it :(

Probably could of kept up tbh cuz it weighs less to start with.

Wonder how the coilovers he has on would compare to Yozza's setup....

205hp at the wheels so that about 240hp or so.
It did sounds nice I thought it would be louder though.

BenR

agree with 2live, a mk1 with the same or even 10bhp less would be faster....

Yozza's cup was pretty much untouchable on the track - my mate was in a subaru STi 360 and he had to let yozza past ( ran over a cone and wedged it on the undercarraige doing so ;) ) - dont think it was down to BHP but actual driving ability. Well done Yozzasport !!!

very true... infact you cant compare Gaz to std setup, I've panned the TB'd beast with far less power round some RA's racing Mehdi and he's prolly a better driver than me... and the cars certainly faster lol

Cheers for the comments guys,

its 205 BHP @ the wheels at last check - thats why its so slow. ;-)

it isn't running a fully finished map yet either, so we are hoping to pick up a little bit more torque, as that is what we are slightly down on, but it is really hard mapping it as it spins on the rollers.

The nice thing was that we could show that the figures that we are quoting are realistic and that the packages that we are offering are good enough to be flat out for an hour at a time.

We had a lot of fun on Sunday to be honest, it was good having a head to head with BB's car (270 odd bhp turbo) we were pushing him around on a complete lap, but he wouldn't get out of the way - as he pulled a car length on the straight down to the bottom end, which made it a bit of a challenge. The only spot we had the opportunity to go past him was really late on the brakes into the last hairpin (in front of everyone), and we had run out of rubber on the tyres by that point - leading to a trip towards the crowd twice. anyhow, both times we were straight back on them and we were pleased that we were able to annoy and overtake the quicker cars (STI, Blown Elise, Atom and the Nobel) that were out there.

Adi came up to me an was moaning about me taking chunks out of him on his gear changes - i think it might have been operator error ;-)

9 Lives, does that mean I get one of your "One In Front" stickers?

and yes, i agree - that engine in a MK1 would be lots quicker, but I think it would be much harder to get the power down...

I assume you were on slicks as well Yoz?

y0z2a
02-06-2006, 11:15
not slicks no, but not road tyres.

bruntingthorpe is too harsh for slicks.

^^ Track tyres then. Handeled like the bollox. Have you got an uprated ARB or really stiff springs...

Looked stiff as...

ps.. your nutter

They are road legal track tyres. Standard ARB, Coilovers front and rear, the rear is stiffer than the front hence the fantastic ability to get it to over steer yet still catch it. :-)

ps.. I wasn't going to go out there and let someone say - ooh I kept up with YozzaSports 1.2 and he was really trying hard, when in fact I was just pootling around. Best to go out there and show what we do best - so that people can see the level of performance that we can deliver. People have said that we just sell parts, we don't we offer full race preparation services through our workshop facilities. There is more understanding about anything relating to a petrol engine and setup than anywhere else I know with a weath of F1, Touring Car, Rally and Circuit racing (inc. Clio Cup) with our mechanical team than anywhere else I have used or know of, and I just wanted to show that to the public.

Yoz - you know anyone that can sort the handling / torque steer problem out with my clio ??

y0z2a
02-06-2006, 15:33
you could bring it down and we can give it a proper set up.

have you got any camber in it at the moment and what is the tracking set up as?

you have an LSD in there too don't you?

02-06-2006, 15:59
I can leave it with you for a few weeks if you can do anything - the problem is it just jumps to the left or the right sometimes at high speed under acceleration. Its very dangerous and needs sorting are im gonna have to drop the lump in a v-dub

YozzaSports Cup was quick before it had all the work done to the engine. God only knows what it must be like now!!

Fair play to you for getting out there an doing it Yoz. 8)

y0z2a
09-06-2006, 00:40
it was the operator ;-)

its putting out about 205 BHP at the wheels, and despite what everyone says - it is not "stripped" anymore than the other tuners cars. we were 2 up through out most of the time on track at fcs.
