I bought one because it was the fastested insurance group 12 car...and I like cars with fat arches, also a huge fan of escort cosworths

mine was a toss up between a willy, valver, gtir, cyborg, or 323 turbo 4wd mazda

the valver was the only one i was wlling to pay the insurance quote on being a tight fisted yorkshireman lol

2 years later i got the willy.....havent looked back since......altho the valver was a mint motor loved evry second of it, but it never turned a wheel after i got the willy

Always loved mk1 clio's and even before the clio i think i loved the 5 turbo more!

However bought a mk1 phase 1 1.4rt and then had that for a year realised i could insure a valver and went ahead.

My choices were between a valver, 5 turbo, 106 GTI and RST,

in the end for the money the valver was one of the cheapist to buy and insure, also my parents didn't want me getting a 5 as they heard they can cause a lot of trouble, GTI were a bit pricey and RST ill have to wait and get a series 1 eventually! think they look awsome!

However feel i've picked the best out of the bunch and she still puts a smile on my face!

I was looking to change from my old dci when I went to Oulton in the Kermanators. From then on it was between that and a Xsara VTS.

In the end insurance and cost to buy meant I plumped for the Valver.

I've had 2 valvers now. I opted for a valver first time round on sheer looks alone. didn't really know much about the performance of them. When I picked it up I was amazed.

My current valver I went for because I was already in love with the car/performance and just wanted the best colour available.

Another reason for buying a valver was, (don't get me wrong i'm not into big bodykits) but you can get away with light exterior modifications to a valver. IMHO you would be mad to do it to a Williams. So now i've got a Naples valver with soon to be light exterior mods and a 2.0 engine on the horizon. Therefore i've got in my eyes i've got the best of both worlds and still only group 12 insurance. Plus Hybrids for some reason tend to produce more power and faster times, I can't explain that though.

TBH....I was disapointed with my valvers speed when i first got it..My mate had an Astra GTE 16V, I was exspecting it to be as fast and raw, it was rapid. The valver wasn't a patch on the power and feel of raw speed

But got used to the lack of low down revs. just had to rag it more lol

I got my valver to be different. You don't see many about. They look great and are fairly rapido too! Its fun having people ask you 'Where do you get that bodykit from? it looks mint!'

Nicest looking, quickest IG12 car out there!

Was just over four figures to insure when I was 19 but now I'm 21 it's quite cheap to insure really. I don't want to go back to paying stupid premiums.....

I wanted a valver since i first started driving at 17. 1 ford escort and 2 clio rt's later i bought one :D . I wanted one because of the looks really, and the fact that they are quite rare. originally was looking for a williams but insurance was about £1100 tpft and the valver was £800. I love it and hopefully if all goes well it will be a willy hybrid at some point 8)

i had an rt first, loved that but got bored of the low power, wanted a williams but at the time they were still going for 8-9k! even the valvers will still 4-5k which is what i paid for mine. (2002) amazing how the prices for both have come so far down since then.

I got mine as i wrote of my megane in an accident and i couldn't find a GTT up here.

It was odd with that car TBH; IIRC it was first registered in february 1993, i bought it in february 2003 after my accident then BRUN bought it off me in february this year because of his Clio GTT accident. Everything happening bang on its birthday each year...kinda freaky if you ask me! lol

Got mine because I wanted a Williams but not the Group 17 insurance. Group 11/12 for the Valver seemed much more affordable and the 5k asking price for a five year old Valver with 44K was a few grand less than an equivalent Williams.

Maybe I missed out on the 2 litre torque but as I have spent a bit on my Valver that can be added. Wider track less of an issue as have coilovers.

My dad swapped cars with a bloke from his work for 2 weeks, the bloke needed a family car to go skiing......

So we had this little renault for 2 weeks and my god i was sold within 1 outing......

Was a j reg phase 1 and i loved it  had to have one

I bought mine cuz I was sick of giving the R5 GT Turbo a different major overhaul every week.

Also IMO Clio valvers were the last proper hot hatch. Its got a Cat but none of the rest of the eco-friendly crap attached to engines these days. Its not controlled by ten computers, and no ABS

brought mine as a track car/2nd car I'm 20. A few friends have had them and theyre getting cheapish, so it was ideal. Just means i dont have to worry about binning my Foci rs anymore lol.

Foci? What, you've got more than one?! :P Focus RS AND Clio 16V. Either you're a pimp or you're living at home - or both.

Bought mine because they arent exactly common and the wide arches just did it for me, also the sales blokey took me for a spin and knew how to drive the thing and so I had to have it! Also my GTT was annoying me at the time!!

Fastest car for the money, relative cheap insurance. Also helped that I'd already been in one and was well impressed by its abilities... Takes the scalps of many more expensive cars.

got my first cause i was bored of my 8v corsa sri and wanted something a bit quicker and went to look at only 1 and got it for a bargain price, first time i put my foot down i realised it was more than just a bit quicker, it would have mullered my sri lol

got my second one after getting an MR2 and being a bit disappointed with the performance of it, missed my valver and now have a naples red valver thats a bit tatty but is defo quicker than my previous one.
