is it nesscery or can the car run happily without it?

only reason i ask is mine is mangled and your answers determin wether i rip it out or try and straighten it up a bit.

if you dont have one the exhaust manifold will lock the accelerator cable !

I'm sure winston or someone ran for months without one....I would get a new un personally though and not risk it.

Won't do your clutch cable, brake or PAS fluid any good either, running without one.

all these posts true mate,i ran my silver valver without one,it boiled my brake fluid,and burnt through my throttle calbe and locked my throttle on! lucklly it was only bottom end of 2nd but imagine if it had been somwhere dangerous! not worth messin about matey its there for a very good reason :)

I ran mine without for about 9 months and had no problems

I eventually bought a new un thou as I didnt want to boil my brake fluid

My valver never had one on when i got it back in June 2005 and i only put one on the week before last!

Had no problems without one, but my brakes were always piss poor, spose that could've been the reason :roll:
