I was thinking about running air ducts to my standard airbox from BOTH the slots at the front bumper beside where the foglights sit,.. you know the black plastic blanking plate, its about 2" high by 1" wide.

What does everything think about running a feed from these?

What would be the implications of running an airtight feed from these direct into the airbox? Would it fill up with water and muck or what?

I just removed the passenger side blanking plate. The standard airbox pipe sits behind there facing up. IMHO I think running ducting is a waste of time as its essentially a big box in there, so my thinking is that it'll fill up with cold air and be sucked through anyway. This also eliminates the chance of foreign bodies, water/excess dirt etc, entering the airbox.

As for the drivers side blanking plate, i really wouldn't bother. No gains to be had there IMHO.

Thats where mine is run from. I'll see if I can find a couple of pics. I also have the brake vents run from the foglight housings.

Never really had any problems with it, although I am "slightly" more cautious when going through deep water.

Pics of front of car. The outer 2 (fog holes) feed the brakes and the inner slot on the right hand side feeds the intake.

No front grill?

No. Aids cooling a hell of a lot. Also the rear of the bonnet is also raised to stop any heat build up under bonnet.

Hmm, my williams never had a front grill for most of it's life and it always ran very cool on the temp even when thrashing now I know why.. 8)

Why is it so much cooler without?

Are there any disadvantages? More likely to damage radiator?

I've got mesh to protect mine so hopefully not. It just seems better because its a bigger hole for the air to get through to the rad.

This is only working off the temp gauge though I havent actually tested it with thermometers or anything though.

ya need some pics of the feed.

Basically I was thinking of taking feeds from both sides directly to the intake box, sealed all thw way, or do you think just 1 would be enough? ?? I could then use the other for feeding the brakes.

Think pics of that may be hard! just take it from the right hand side...from the opening in the bumper, and connect it to the other end to the botoom of the airbox.

Get a foam replacment filter aswell...or make one like i did!
