How do tou take the airbag steering wheel off?

As above really, is there a guide i can follow for getting it off as i wanna replace it with a decent wheel.

all i did was disconect battery for hour or so, then undo the 2 torx screw in rear of steerin wheel. pull airbag off, disconnect the plug and throw on the floor :shock: then run :lol:

You have to crash your car mate so the airbag goes off. Then remove :wink:

i just took the battery off and disconnected it, you take the screws off and just pull the middle forward and then pull the cable out thats the air bag off then you have the explosive on the back part which you just undo the nut / bolt in the middle and take the whole wheel off

I did it loads of times when i changed my stearing coloum :)

i think gunner even hit his with a hammer a few times and nothing happened but we all know hes a madman :P

hmm i had two types on mine one was a huge nut cant remember what it was but it was like 18mm or somthing might have been bigger and the other type had a trox type bolt which screwed in

t50 torx or 19mm socket iirc

Pah, i didn't even disconnect the battery :lol:

Ands i launched it accross teh garden to see if it weoudl go off...nothing :(

to detonated them you need to short / connect the wires out.
